General Description
Situated in a large grove of palms, lemon trees and oleanders, la Florida offers sweeping views of Lago di Garda and the sheltering mountains that provide the area with its warm climate.

Of the property's 17 units, we chose Palma, a one bedroom apartment in the main building served by an elevator, and Pino, a studio in an annex of side by side units on a level below. Both have splendid lake views, a terrace or balcony, quality furnishings and satellite television. Steps lead down from the comfortable lobby and reception desk to the annex, the gardens, the main pool and a childrens' pool. The pools are open from 8 am to 8 pm, early-May through mid-October. Other amenities include a giant outdoor chess game and a barbecue pit. Heating, air conditioning and daily cleaning service with a towel change are included in the price. Laundry service, breakfast and Internet access are available for an additional cost.

A lakeside beach is 150 yards away and nearby are tennis courts, golf courses, boat rentals and horse stables. The English speaking staff of la Florida is delighted to share their knowledge of the region. They can help obtain tours of the lake and tickets to events, such as the opera in Verona. Gardone Riviera, just one of the many towns that glitter along Garda, is a five minute drive away. There you will find a lovely promenade with cafés, restaurants and shops. Brescia is within a 30 minute drive; Sirmione: 45; Verona or the Soave and Bardolino wine areas: 60; Milan: 90 and Venice: 120.
