Prima Colazione - Italian breakfast consists of coffee, juice, bread with butter or marmalade or a croissant. Hotels often offer the "salt pork diet" to foreigners. Eat salami in the morning and drink water like a shark for the rest of the day.

Colazione or Pranzo - Lunch is served between noon and 2 PM. Shortly after, restaurants close until evening. Pasta is often the main attraction. Many Italians now forego a second course in favor of a salad.

Tramezzini, Panini & Tost - Snacks in the form of sandwiches can be eaten anytime at a Caffè Bar.

Cena - Most restaurants don't reopen until 7:30 pm. Supper before 8 PM is early. There is a wide variety of dishes and courses, however pasta is often skipped. Pizza is a popular alternative. The farther south you go, the later one eats. In Sicily, supper is between 9 pm and midnight.
