The majority of homes on our site fall under these categories. Understanding the differences between them will help your selection process.

Country villas
Are usually found on unpaved roads that lead through beautiful vineyards, olive groves, fields, mountains or forests. Roads can be short or long, straight or winding, and some are bumpier than others.

Multiples Properties
with a number of apartments or cottages, and usually a central management, are ideal for first-time visitors. The on-site property staff can be a useful resource for advice on local activities. These properties are also great for friends and couples traveling together who desire proximity to each other but require a bit more privacy than would be found living together in one large villa. Typically, general facilities are shared; for example pools or laundry rooms.

On the Farm
A home on an owner's estate or a separate apartment in a villa is usually more private than the multiple, as less opportunity for interaction exists. This type of rental is more like being on your own, surrounded by the ambiance of a working farm. Machinery will be used from time to time, tractors have to be moved and dogs and chickens do love the sounds of their own voices!

Home Alone
The independent villa is usually chosen by the experienced travelers and large families who are comfortable being together and totally on their own. Within this distinction, there are many styles of homes: restored farmhouses, authentic stone villas and Renaissance estates.

Townies
Those seeking a faster pace will often choose a city or an in-town apartment, never as quiet as being in the country, but often easier to shop and navigate from without a car. If considering a car, please take note of the property location, availability of parking, and distance to the parking facilities, if any.

Agriturismo
This often used term refers to an old farming tradition of being allowed to sleep a night in a hayloft or barn in exchange for a day of manual labor. Nowadays, the term Agriturismo loosely refers to staying in a property where there is some farming activity going on. You don't sleep in the chicken coop or hayloft and nor are you asked to perform any labor. With the exception of properties located in cities, many properties in the countryside allow you the opportunity to see some farming being done.
